Has anyone read any good books lately or have any old favorites to recommend? I've just been picking up Newberry winners from the kid's section at the library (which are great) but I wouldn't mind an adult selection every now and again.

I'm not much of a church series person and neither is my mom, but at the end of my pregnancy I started reading "The Children of the Promise" series and my mom did also and we LOVE it! They are good, interesting and a quick read. They are by Dean Hughs and there are 5 in the that series and then there are five more that go on with the story in a series call "The Hearts of the Children" and we are now currently reading those.
Hi Kari,
So I'm almost finished with "Fire of the Covenant" by Gerald Lund. It's very good! (but long) I'm mesmerized at the gym reading my book and pretending I'm getting a good workout on the exercise bike at the same time.
Fire of the Covenant is very good. I read it while prenant though and cried through a lot of it - I never do that with books normally! Actually though Tim had to put it away for a couple days because it was too sad for him also, so maybe it had nothing to do with the pregnancy! Very good book!
Have you read the vampire books by Stephani Meyer? I know, sounds funny, but they are great. It's not really a series, but the third book just came out. Start with Twilight, then New Moon, and Eclipse is just barely out. She is a Mormon author, graduated from BYU, lives in Mesa. My sister-in-law who's 15 introduced me to them, and I guess they have been sweeping LDS girls/moms everywhere! Anyways, I think that's how you spell her name, enjoy!
I'm commenting here to answer your question. Kort is going to Toulouse (sp) France. Did Bert go to France?
