The other night Mackenzie asked why her aunt Ali had to go to college. I told her Ali needed to go to college so she could get a job. She asked "Will dad have to go to college someday?"
I said, "Dad already went to college before you were born. And so did mom." So then she wanted to know what my job is. I told her my job is being a mom.
Her reply: "BOR-ING!"
I guess I have a long way to go if I'm trying to raise loving, nurturing, mothers-to-be.

Brooklyn cracks me up because every time she gets hurt she says "I'm bleeding!" She also likes to blame her sister even if she is nowhere in sight "Che Che hit arm!"

Last weekend we went to the zoo and I overheard a great conversation. When we were looking at the giraffes, there was a couple by us who had a son about 4.
Dad: "Let's go in the giraffe house and see if we can see the baby giraffe."
Mom: "Ben! The baby giraffe D-I-E-D!"
Dad/Ben: "Sorry, I didn't know!"

Girls, all I really want is girls. And in the mornin it's girls. Cause in the evening, it's girls (Beastie Boys)
It would have been a hard habit to break anyway--calling my kids "my girls." We are all excited for another beautiful little girl to join our family...except maybe one of us is still getting used to the idea. And it isn't dad. See the video below to find out who really wanted a brother and not a sister.
I'm sure she'll get used to it eventually and quit saying how she's gonna hit and kick the baby. We love seeing what great friends Mackenzie and Brooklyn have grown into and I'm sure this next one will be another built in best friend.
Isn't she awesome!

New Plates

I think we may be the first (does that make us the best?) to get on these new BYU license plates. My husband is pretty excited about this so next time you see us make sure you tell him how incredibly awesome they are!
