Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night

Christmas Eve was always a magical night growing up.  Tons of family and good food, acting out the Nativity, talents show, dancing.  I'm not sure I can ever bring that same magic to my kids, but they sure went to bed excited.  Here are their pictures for Santa...

My Sweet B is 5

This lucky girl got to celebrate her birthday in Hawaii. She and Mackenzie got to get their hair and nails done for a fun birthday surprise.

Before we left Brooklyn also celebrated at Chuck E. Cheese with friends (Braden- the poor only boy- and Olivia, Samantha Barlow, and Natasha Zarandona).

This is at the Dr. Wirkus' office when Mackenzie is getting her cast off.  I like how it shows off Brookie's goofy personality.

At preschool, I got to go in and help Brooklyn celebrate. She "read" her favorite book to the class If You Give a Pig a Party. We brought rice krispie treats to share. Brooklyn got to show off the birthday mobile she made also. It had some of her favorites: People- Braden, Oakley  Activities- tennis, soccer  Treat- cotton candy  Food- spaghetti

How we love this sweet B! Can you please stay 5 forever?

Hawaiian Thanksgiving

Hopefully one day I'll have enough energy to add words to the pictures.

First Haircut

Charlotte just had her first haircut a few months after her 2nd birthday. She has these cute curls at the ends of her hair that I haven't wanted to say goodbye to. We just cut off an inch and they are still there- Yay! I am mostly posting this pic because I am not a good/sentimental enough mother to keep these hairs in a book.

Art work

Mackenzie's penguin family. She came up with and created it totally on her own.

Brooklyn's fall inspired drawing

Halloween 2012

Trunk R Treat. The girls went to Gardner Village earlier that day with the Sutherlands and got their faces painted. Char was not interested in wearing her costume.
Winner school parade. Oakley is Snow White, Braden is the Hulk and Brookie is a Monarch Butterfly
Neighborhood trick or treating. Char is an owl, M is also an owl and we have our cute butterfly again

Palm Springs

Palm Springs sounds like a glamorous place. Maybe it is in January, but the last week of September it is a furnace. Playing tennis in 100+ degree weather was a new and interesting and hopefully not one to be repeated experience. My summer league 2.5 tennis team still had a fabulous time playing at Nationals though. We didn't do a lot of winning, but had tons of fun.

Gina, Diane, Michelle, Anji, Lindsey, Me, and Kim (and Robyn was in France)

I was stoked to win both my matches. I played my first match with Gina and my second with Anji. All the ladies on my team are so great and I hope I can keep playing with them.

My roomies- Diane, Lindsey, Me (Don't mind the 20 weeks prego pooch) and Michelle. Really fun to hang with these ladies and the rest had their hubbies there.

Fall Soccer and a Cast

Both Brooklyn and Mackenzie had fun playing soccer this season. This was Brooklyn's first time and  I was happy that she wasn't timid about getting in there. At half time she would announce to her team "I have a plan. We need to distract the other team and then go score a goal!"

Above Brookie is trying to stop a goal. Below she is posing with her cousin Braden. Also on her team were Peter Gilbert, Henry Hyer, and Curtis Sutherland.

Above Talmage, Mackenzie and Char are "watching" the younger kids play.

Mackenzie had fun playing too; she played with Talmage and Paige. She played on the the team for 1st and 2nd graders. Some of these kids have played a lot. And can kick really hard. Like hard enough that if you're the goalie and a kid kicks it about 5 feet away and it bends your wrist back, it could fracture. But at least you could get a bright pink cast and your friends could all sign it. And at least you could get it off the day before you leave for Hawaii.

Aftermath. 4 weeks with a cast on the right arm.

Sigh

I had so many options for a title on this post. I just couldn't choose, so I'll list them.
My body and pregnancy don't see eye to eye
I'm bringing sexy back!
Awesome, Huh?
