Travels

We started off spending 2 weeks in St. George so Robert could work and the rest of us could sweat. We then spent a quick night at the Skousons in Vegas (best hosts-king size bed and waffles for breakfast??) on our way to Twin Lakes for the 4th of July. I only have 3 sorry pictures to prove it but the girls had the time of their lives at Twin Lakes. It was kid heaven with the McOmber cousins and lots of grandmas to play with.

We had bear excitement with a very persistent and hungry bear. We had tons of crafts from Grandma Jean. Grandma Betty was so prepared with things for the kids to do when they weren't kayaking or playing in the dirt or eating. I am just in heaven whenever I am at the cabin. It is the most beautiful place to me. I can't forget a great volleyball game (thanks to grandmas for playing with all the kiddos), the 5mile for Robert, Shannon, Carrie and Earl. Hopefully I can get my hands on some photos soon.

Ragnar: Check

We've had the Ragnar Relay (Wasatch Back) on our to-do list for a while and it feels good to get it checked off! This is a relay race with 12 people per team (in our other van were some guys from our ward and stake) and it starts in Logan and ends in Park City. We started at the crack of dawn Friday morning and ended Saturday night.
Each runner has 3 legs. Mine were 7.7, 8.7, and 5 miles. Robert's first leg was...well, let's call it exciting. It was almost 7 miles and we were all waiting and waiting for him at the end. Somehow he finished but he had quite the bout of g.i. distress! Luckily he recovered enough to finish up his next 2 legs; a 4 and a mountainous 7 plus. We got about 2 hours of sleep at Kamas H.S. Friday night which was the hardest part.
Getting to know the Duncans and Hyers better (too good? j/k) was a highlight. Loved cheering on my team! Also loved driving and running through beautiful parts of Utah where I have never been. Eden and Paradise- the names are a perfect fit. Will I do it again? Perhaps. Robert wants to do it again so he can get in 3 successful legs :-) but it might take a little convincing for me.

Let's Be Real

Let's just tell it like it is here. This is the most beautiful face any of us have ever seen.

Mackenzie's Letter

Could it be any sweeter?

Elder Kevin

Here is a picture Elder Christiansen sent us from hot and humid Florida. He says he has never sweated so much in his life. This is a bike trail and tri athletes like to train where he lives because of all the hills. Mackenzie is so amazed with the fact that when Kevin gets home from his mission she will be 7, Brooklyn will be 5 and Charlotte will be 2 :)  He is doing a great job and learning so much. We are proud of him!

My first Women's Conference

I hope there are many more Women's Conferences to come. I had such a great time with [in order of above] Aimee, Ruth Ann, Donni, and April and Deborah (not pictured). We stayed in a house near campus, went to uplifting classes all day, and out to dinner both Thursday and Friday, and stayed up late talking. We had a great Indian dinner at Bombay House and a not so great dinner at Los Hermanos. And I love my husband for watching the girlies and even more for his renewed appreciation for what I do all day!
