6 weeks. Photo Shoot

At 6 weeks, I am ready to freeze time. He is losing the brand new baby look and I am just trying to enjoy every snuggly minute. And there are a lot of those because the boy does not like to be put down!

Time is flying by

One week old...

First Bath...

My mom, dad, and grandma came to see the 2 week old before he got too big...

Jeffrey took his first trip to St. George at 3 weeks old. Is there anything better than a newborn asleep on your chest? No, snuggling that warm bundle is the best thing in the world.

January 28, 2013

10am.......... Dr. Lloyd breaks my water. This is my first time being induced and I am surprised that we just get right to it.
10:20am..... I start on pitocin
12pm.........  I am only dilated to a 3cm.  Robert is working on his computer. I'm watching Downton Abbey on my ipad
1pm........... Epidural
1:30pm...... I am at 6 cm when the nurse checks me. 20 minutes later I am ringing the nurse button because I feel strong contractions and pressure and sure enough baby was ready.
2:08pm..... Jeffrey arrives.  Robert is present and conscious- double bonus.
The nurse exclaims "It's a BOY!" Dr. says "Oh, I was going to hold him up and let them see for themselves. Nurse apologizes "Sorry, I just got so excited."  We were all so excited.  Well, I wasn't excited, I was crying and overwhelmed with joy (as I would have been with a girl). This baby is my true love.

Our Home Progress

I want to get the blog caught up so it's ready for baby pictures EEK!  So we are building a home in Cottonwood Heights and we are expecting it to be ready for move-in this summer some time. Here is the progress so far. It's in the stage where it seems to be coming along so it is fun to see.

More Christmas

Smiths had a fun Christmas season. The girls love to decorate gingerbread houses. We enjoyed taking homemade granola to our neighbors. It was fun to go to school Christmas programs for each girl. Bonus was Grandma Jill came in to see them all and Grandpa Jeff joined us in time for Christmas.  Robert took the big girls skiing twice during the break. I was so impressed that he would take them because it's a lot of work! All of us except Char went to see The Christmas Box musical play out at The Empress Theatre in Magna which starred our tennis instructor Dave Pack. It was a sweet moment when  the old lady passes away in the play and it brought Mackenzie to tears (a teaching moment). Wonderful time of year with little people.
