Expecting the Expected

This morning I was grinding wheat, making a floury mess. The big girls were running around pretending it was pixie dust. Char was screaming chasing and trying to get in on the action. I thought, Yes, we might as well add some crazy to the crazy. So that's what we are going to do. In early February.

The Twins

The Twins are our back yard neighbors. They could not be more loved by the girls in this house. And who else would teach them about force fields and electrocution?

London 2012

Good times in London.  We saw USA women's volleyball team beat Korea. We were lucky to be able to trade our tickets so we could see the US for both volleyball and basketball. My favorite event was the men's beach volleyball. We watched the bronze and gold/silver matches. It was awesome to be so close and to see the medal ceremony in person.

Paris

We have been hoping to go to the London 2012 summer olympics since they announced that it would be in London about 7 years ago. But of course before we went to London, Robert thought he needed to spend a few days in Paris. We spent Sunday going to church, strolling through the jardin des tuileries, Musee D'orsay and another day at Disneyland Paris. Yes, EuroDisney. I never claimed we were the most sophisticated people you've ever met.

Torticollis

Torticollis is the name the ER Dr. gave to what created this miserable day for poor Char. She woke up at the crack of dawn, holding her head to the side (like in the picture above), wanting nothing but to be held and lay her head on our shoulders. She wouldn't get down or eat or do anything and would scream at the slightest movements which was disturbing. Finally that afternoon I took her into the instacare and they told us we had to go over to the ER in case it was meningitis. Ok scary. After so so much waiting we finally saw the Dr. who said it was basically just a neck spasm and just give her some pain killer until it goes away. It was such an awful and weird day. That evening it started getting better. Robert gave her a blessing and she snapped right out of it. One of those super fun parenting days!

June in St. George

I'll document our weeks in St. George with a few pictures.

How many popsicles did we eat in that crazy heat? Too many. How much do my girls love the cats from next door? Too much.

We saw Aladdin at Tuacahn. Some day we'll go to a play that isn't a Disney movie. maybe

Snow canyon hike. The shortest one offered for this wimpy family.

Girls observing at wildlife museum.                         Mackenzie spent hours with the bend-a-roos!

Tennis

I have so much to catch up on with the blog but today I want to celebrate tennis. It was a long tiring day with the kids. Char is punishing me for being gone for 8 days by being terrible. I was able to make it through the day because I knew tonight I got to go meet some teammates to practice for the sectional tournament next weekend. If we win the sectional tournament we get to travel to Palm Springs for nationals. How fun would that be? Wish us luck :) This picture is from districts-- Gina, Robyn, Anji, Me, Lindsey, and Kim. (Missing are Diane and Michelle)
