Disneyland 2010

The girls were in heaven with the rides and the characters. It was hot but it was worth it.

On the Mend

I'll start with the short version and then document the long version of Brooklyn's urinary reflux and surgery...

SHORT: Brooklyn has/had urinary reflux where the urine in the bladder can reflux back up into the kidneys and cause kidney damage and frequent urinary tract infections. Her corrective surgery seemed to go well; she'll be tested again in 3 months. She's been a champ (as long as she has some pain killers) and is mending nicely. Her incision is the only thing we really have to worry about. We mostly just have to make sure her dad doesn't see it and pass out again!!

LONG: maybe next post

Already?

Yesterday Brooklyn dropped the toilet paper on the floor and started calling for help. When I went in there she told me, "The baby did it."
I said "What do you mean? The baby in mommy's belly?"
"Yes. The baby did it."
Haha- blaming the baby already. I would have expected that from Mackenzie but not Brooklyn:)

8 more weeks

Baby Center just informed me that this baby is headed towards a growth spurt. Seriously? How will she ever fit?

Baby's nursery isn't much but it's nice having a place all ready for her.

So far I've just spent $ on a crib skirt and crib mattress. Mackenzie and I made the bird mobile when I was trying to convince her how great it was going to be to have a little sister (instead of a brother).

Rhogam Shot

Today I had to go get a rhogam shot. I'm so amazed at the whole Rh incompatibility issue and that we have such a simple solution now days.

If you need a simple refresher (like I do with every pregnancy) here it is. I have Rh- blood, which only 15% of women do. This is not a problem if the husband also has Rh- because the baby will for sure have Rh- blood also. But in our case Robert has Rh+ blood so the baby could have - or + and if the baby has + blood then there could be problems if it crosses with my - blood.
So the dr. makes sure I get a rhogam shot at 28 weeks and then again after delivery if the baby is Rh+. Such a simple solution to kind of a complex thing. Thanks to whoever discovered all these bloody things!

Cabin Trip

We took a quick trip up to the cabin over 4th of July weekend. We had a blast. The pictures say it better than me.

These 2 have their fair share of yelling matches and Kenzie often has scratches on her face as evidence of fighting. But despite the arguing/etc they are the BEST OF FRIENDS. What would Kenzie do without someone to boss around? What would Brookie do without a big sister to entertain her?
